Ceylonese Thalaguli was started by my wife and I as a Sunday afternoon snack. Over time with the support of our friends and family it turned in to a much loved home business.
When we started, Thalaguli was an obscure un loved cultural sweet. It seemed like its glory days of being on every celebratory tea table was over. We decided to go back to the roots of how the classic Thalaguli was made and based our product on that. Fortunately my wife had an old family recipe and we developed our recipe from that.
We wanted to make a product that was well crafted from the best ingredients we could source. We decided to make small quantities just like we would make for our family. For us price is not a determining factor as we wanted the freedom to buy ingredients without worrying about cost. We decided to make our thalaguli fresh on demand for our customers because we wanted to always have that freshness you would find in homemade food. Over the last 2 years we have been blessed to have many clients who have come to us repeatedly as they loved our product.
Marketing and promoting Ceylonese Thalaguli
Most of our marketing is on Fb and Instagram therefore we decided to go with a mix of professional product photography and candid pictures from the phone of orders we made. Below are some of the Fb posts I've made for our promotions.
I also put up a website for displaying our products. To find out more about Ceylonese Thalaguli please visit our website
